Mahnaz (Mila) Paydarzarnaghi is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Gabelli School of Business at 麻豆色情片 in Bristol, Rhode Island. Her research focuses on FinTech, artificial intelligence in finance, social media analytics, and behavioral finance, applying machine learning and natural language processing to large-scale textual and behavioral data. Her recent work spans the market effects of AI outages, strategic bot activity in financial social media, and the textual analysis of SEC 10-K filings.
Her research has appeared in journals such as Finance Research Letters and Managerial Finance, and has earned recognition including the Securities and Exchange Commission University Roundtable Award, along with several doctoral scholarships and research grants.
Mila earned her Ph.D. in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2025, where she also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Finance and a Graduate Research Assistant before joining Roger Williams. She additionally holds an M.S. in Mathematics from New Mexico State University, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Tehran.
Mila has taught Mathematical Finance to graduate students and Investments, Financial Management, and Business Finance to undergraduates. She served as an Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics at the University of North Texas, Collin College, Dallas College, New Mexico State University, and the University of Texas at Arlington, teaching courses such as Calculus and College Algebra for business majors.
