BRISTOL, R.I. – At �鶹ɫ��Ƭ, exceptional teaching is defined not only by subject expertise, but by the relationships faculty build with their students. Through the Professor of the Semester Award, one educator from each of �鶹ɫ��Ƭ's six schools is honored for modeling “what teaching should strive to be,” creating engaging classrooms, supporting student growth, and sparking curiosity that extends beyond the semester.

Led by the �鶹ɫ��Ƭ Student Senate’s Academic Affairs Committee, the selection process invited undergraduate students from the Bristol campus to anonymously nominate professors who made a meaningful impact on their academic experience. Chosen from 78 nominations, this semester’s honorees reflect the wide-ranging ways faculty inspire students – through mentorship, inclusive teaching, real-world connections, and an unwavering commitment to student success.

This semester’s honorees span all six schools, with students highlighting the distinct ways each professor has left a lasting impression through their teaching, mentorship, and engagement inside and outside the classroom.

William Skinner, Adjunct Faculty

Known for making strong personal connections with students, Adjunct Professor Skinner brings a thoughtful, attentive presence to every class, pairing careful listening with lessons that consistently keep students engaged and invested in the work.
