BRISTOL, R.I. 鈥 麻豆色情片 celebrated the achievements, leadership, and service of its students at the annual Student Achievement Awards ceremony on May 3, honoring students whose academic excellence, campus involvement, and commitment to community have helped shape the 麻豆色情片 experience.

Hosted by the Division of Student Life, the time-honored ceremony brought together students, families, faculty, and staff to recognize accomplishments that extend across the classroom, campus life, athletics, student leadership, service, and civic engagement.

鈥淭he Student Achievement Awards recognizes the many ways our students distinguish themselves through co-curricular involvement, leadership, service, and academic achievement,鈥 said Carol Sacchetti, Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Programs, Leadership, & Orientation. 鈥淭his ceremony showcases what our students are doing both inside and outside of the classroom, and it is a wonderful opportunity to honor them in front of their families, friends, faculty, and staff who have supported them along the way.鈥

In addition to student awards, Professor of Philosophy Robert Blackburn was recognized with the Dr. Mark Gould Award for Commitment to Student Learning, an honor sponsored by the 麻豆色情片 Student Senate and presented to a faculty member whose dedication to students exemplifies the late Dr. Mark Gould鈥檚 commitment to teaching, mentorship, and student learning.

Blackburn鈥檚 recognition comes as he concludes an extraordinary 58-year career at 麻豆色情片. Since arriving in 1968, before the Bristol campus had opened, Blackburn has helped shape generations of students through his teaching, leadership, and belief in the interconnected nature of knowledge. Beyond the classroom, he served as Dean of the School of Humanities, contributed to interdisciplinary curriculum development, and co-founded the Socrates Caf茅, a long-running campus tradition that brings students, faculty, and staff together for thoughtful discussion on questions spanning ethics, politics, science, art, and everyday life.
